Located off Pune-Satara Road, Café Delicia, is the kind of place you could stop by on a busy day to pack a quick meal or walk into on a laid back evening for a snack.
This is one of those eateries that every area has, one that has that a little bit of everything – from frankies, subs and momos to brownies and chocolates. We’re usually not too fond of such places but this one we’d make an exception for because we’re glad that it does well what it does. Even though their offering is not a unique concept, their quality of food is the only reason this one works for us.
Wrapped in a non-greasy roti, their frankies have a copious amount of filling. Their Chicken Frankie comes with a thick, succulent chicken filling. Although it’s served with a side of ketchup, we’d suggest you have it without it. The Chicken Tikka Sub is quite good as well. But if variety is what you’re looking for then don’t order these two together, because both their fillings taste pretty much the same.
Their open toasts are good alternatives to the sub, if you’ve ordered the frankie or vice versa. The Paneer Open Toast is topped with fresh vegetables, chunks of paneer (duh) and grated cheese. The paneer is grilled just to the right amount and simply melts as you bite into it.
At Rs 50 for vegetarian and Rs 60 for chicken for four pieces momos, this is the only item that is priced steeply. However even these come with a generous amount of filling making it all worth it, especially when you’ve been craving for them. Other snacks on their menu include Maggi & burgers.
They serve iced tea, cold coffee and chocolate shake as well. If you happen to be there on a weekend, you might find pastries on their counter as well.
All in all, if you happen to be in the area, we’d suggest you head here or else we’re sure you could find a similar spread at a number of places across the city.
