Verdict: Dessert that tastes already good, tastes better when you get to customize it on your own from more than 150 flavours.
Rating: 4/5
Table for 2: Rs 180- 200

Address: Near St Mira’s College, Koregaon Park

After receiving an overwhelming response in Ahmedabad, Cravingz brings to Pune its first, low fat frozen yoghurt dessert outlet. Located in a square off Koregaon Park road, this is spread across two spacious and minimally done up levels.

The specialty of this store is that it is a self service store, so as one enters, one is welcomed by colourful sign boards, stacks of cups, a line up of eight flavours frozen yoghurt dispensers, toppings and syrups. Go ahead, customize your own dessert, from start to finish. Next, weigh your dessert and pay at the rate of 60 paise per gram. So a large cup of dessert, loaded with toppings should cost around Rs 190- 200.

Their menu has over 150 flavours of frozen yoghurt and over 40 toppings but they serve only eight flavours on each day. The menu for each day is shuffled, repeating a few popular flavours more often than the others from time to time. So if you’re favourite flavour’s not high on popularity, chances are that you might have to wait a while before you get to have it the next time. They plan to keep the customers updated about the flavours for the day, through their Facebook Page, however, it is not active as of now. The best part about this store is that all its products are low or non-fat, so one can indulge, guilt free!

Out of the flavours we tried, the cookie and cream was the undisputed winner as its flavour satiates a craving for sweet without overpowering the palette. Their fruit flavours are brilliant as well! The toppings vary through the week, in combination with the flavours of the day. They have candies, jellies, wafers, fresh fruits and syrups as well.

While they will be serving smoothies and milkshakes, for now, they plan to introduce bubble tea to start of with.

Although this outlet, is slightly out of the way for those living across other parts of town, we’d say its definitely worth coming all the way for the variety this place has to offer.

PS: Post publishing, we found out another FroYo brand, Berry Twist, has been operating for a while in Pune. We had somehow missed out on it. Hence, Berry Twist is the first FroYo place in Pune.

Cravingz is no longer in Pune. There are other froyo options in KP and the malls on Nagar Road.
