The buzz word these days in the business world- entrepreneurship and startups. Many are taking a step away from jobs and trying their hands with building something on their own. Here come the venture capitalists, angel investors, mentors and various platforms and organizations which support the startups. This weekend, on the 25th, Pune shall see India’s premier startup event bringing together this entire community along with 14 of the best startups from across the country to be showcased. This is Proto.in.
An initiative by Chennai-based The Knowledge Foundation, this is the sixth edition of the event with Proto.in being hosted at Chennai, Delhi and Bangalore previously. This time with still a few days to spare the core team announced that they’re all sold out and as such everyone is expecting a huge Oscar style gala event this time around.
Confirmed speakers at the event are Dr. Prabudha Gadgil (renowned IP expert), Vishal Gondal (CEO IndiaGames), Ganesh Natrajan (CEO Zensar), Rajeev Vij (Microsoft), Mahesh Murthy (Managing Partner at SeedFund) and Ruchi Sangvi (Senior Product Manager at Facebook).
Apart from the usual spotlight on the brightest and most promising startups in the country showcasing their innovative products spanning across IT, cleantech, automobile, design, web and SaaS, the day will be wrapped up Pune’s first ever Facebook Developer Garage where people can understand how Facebook applications are developed with social utility and a potential for business.
The Mumbai Angels group will be demystifying angel investment on how it can enable entrepreneurs in germinating their companies from the idea stage.
The Proto.in team seems quite proud of the fact that one their alumni, Druvaa, who had launched their beta product at the event a couple of editions back has fared well in the industry and is now returning the favor as a sponsor along with Microsoft and Facebook.
It’s an action packed start up weekend at the Proto.in Pune edition. Witness the highest quality of product innovation in India and network with the most influential minds in the startup community. Drop by at the Devang Mehta Auditorium at Persistent, Senapati Bapat Road to witness a show that people will be talking for a while.
