Transformers OST: New Divide by Linkin Park

The world is eagerly waiting for the new Transformers to hit the screens. Till then many have satisfied their hunger by checking out the trailer, numerous Transformers illustrations and the new OST “New Divide” by Linkin Park.
LP has done a good job on the song. Reason why I don’t say excellent is that the chorus vocals are wannabe. Nothing new about it. Instruments sounded good throughout the track and parts I enjoyed were the intro and the bridge. A nice scratch riff was placed in to the bridge.
LP worked with award-winning composer Hans Zimmer for setting the music score for the movie. A digital version was released in May. The physical releases with the official video came out last week. A studio version, an instrumental version and an acapella have been recorded. The track’s intro was also used in the trailer.
The song is based on layered, heavy synths and drum patterns by Rob. The track debuted on the number one spot on the Modern Rock Tracks.
The band’s DJ, Joe Hahn has directed the video and has used special effects to quite an extent with digital blending of movie scenes with the band recordings in an Egyptian cave. This video has the most special effects than any single before by LP. Infra-red cameras were also used to shoot temperature or body heat based scenes which were later re-touched to go with the scenes.
Unfortunately the track lost a lot places on the charts, but fans anyways like the song. Looking forward to the movie now.
