Searching for something new led me to discover yet another happening place around Delhi, the NCR (national capital region)-Noida. With famous malls, shopping outlets and a lot many offices, Noida is the next big thing to watch out for in the near future. Sector 18, the busiest of all, has extremely good places to just relax and enjoy the good life. My interests in lounges took me to the recently open Hotel Mosaic, which has been built at the place where Hotel Shipra once stood. Mosaic, primarily, has two zones that draw people on a regular basis, their restaurant “Latitude”, and the lounge bar “Fluid”.

The sensational look of the lounge made me enter it. After entering it, I realised that I had never seen such a place before. The entrance to Fluid was on one side of the hotel, but there was lots of glass work which made for an interesting décor. As soon as you enter, you see the whole place covered in white (not the walls, but the very plush sofas that you can sink into!) The bar itself has a collection of huge bottles, including some large sized liquor bottles, that could not fail to impress me.

The lounge bar has two floors. The lower floor can be reached by a staircase which is in the lounge itself. It has ample room for dancing to music by either a live band or DJ. The furniture is striking as there are sofas and other plush revolving chairs. Something, that sets it apart from the other similar places. The unique selling point of this lounge would be the ambience where light effects are exploited appropriately and hence, become a mood-setter. The special alignment of neon lights in the place totally envelopes everything in its glitter with vibrant colors of reds, sailing blues or the limelight yellows, in a wave like pattern that travels throughout the lounge.

If you go alone, drinks will fall in the range of Rs. 250-500. A meal for a group of five can range anywhere from Rs. 1000 to 1600. A variety of Continental, Mediterranean and American cuisine is available, but there is hardly any Indian food on the menu. Watch out if you are male and it is a Wednesday evening, because this is the night for ladies. All in all a nice place to chill, especially so for the frequent strollers in and around Delhi.
